George Karayiannis started the piano at an early age alongside the internationally renowned Greek soloist Dino Mastroyiannis in Hellenic Volos Conservatory annex of the late Bampis Kechaidis. He received a degree in Music Theory and a Diploma in Piano Performance from the Municipal Conservatory of Volos grade 'Excellent unanimously'.
Through master-classes in Greece and abroad he studied with internationally renowned pianists such as Uwe Matschke, Nancy Garniez (Mannes College of Music, USA), Man Sharon (Julliard School, New York), Konstantin and Julia Ganev (students of Heinrich Neuhaus ). He has done courses with renowned soloists and professors such as Vadim Mazo ('Ameropa' artistic director), Mark Clinton, Nicole Narboni, Karel Špelina (Prague Conservatory) and Semyon L. Yaroshevich (Rubin Academy of Music, Tel-Aviv University).
To his credit he has appearances in recitals and chamber music concerts, as in “Ameropa” International Chamber Music Festival in Prague, the International Music Festival of Volos, etc., and has performed as a soloist with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Volos celebrating 2 years since its inception, under the direction of Russian conductor Symeon Kogan.
Today, he continues to study renewing its repertoire and preparing for various concerts in Greece and abroad while at the same time doing his master's degree at the University of Thessaly.
