|Marko Hribernik is a Slovenian conductor and pianist. He studied Piano at the School of Music with Prof. Aci Bertoncelj and he finished his studies in 1998 with distinction. During his Piano studies, he also studied conducting for one year with Prof. Anton Nanut. After graduating he continued his education in the field of orchestral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna with Prof. Uros Lajovic. After a first degree, he improved even in choral conducting with Prof. Theuringa Guenther. He obtained his Master’s degree with the highest distinction in June 2004 followed with a concert as conductor of the Austrian Radio Orchestra at the famous ‘Musikverein’ in Vienna. Marko Hribernik is active as a pianist, vocal collaborative pianist and chamber musician. For his achievements in the field of piano music at the time of the study in Ljubljana he obtained the Prešeren Prize.
He conducted with great success all the Slovenian orchestras, i.e. the Slovenian Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestra of RTV Slovenia, Maribor Philharmonic, to name a few. As a conductor, is also performed abroad (England, Italy, Kazakhstan, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Croatia). In 2004, he was a Conductor-in-residence of the Slovenian Philharmonic. More recently, he is specialized as an interpreter and conductor of new music. His is Director of the Slovenian Society of Composers Orchestra “KOS” and New Music Ensemble of the Academy of Music. He already conducted several world-premieres of works by Slovenian composers. He has recorded for Radio and Television Slovenia.
His latest project is co-founder of the Society Claves musicae, which works under the auspices of the Chamber Orchestra of Academia Sancti Petri. The orchestra has already performed some very successful concerts; the last of them was in Bavaria, where the orchestra went in June 2005 Echo at the invitation of the General Consulate of the Republic of Slovenia, and gave a concert in honor of Slovenian national holiday. The “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, one of most important German newspapers, wrote: “young, spirited musician orchestra Academia Sancti Petri with its conductor approach the music with enthusiasm and virtuosity, which predict a great future … this is just the beginning of a success story, which was found speaking in Pullachu at 14 years of independence of Slovenia, its full height of joy … “.
